I actually asked the guy "So, if I take this gallon, pour half into another gallon container, and add water, I'll basically be paying 5 dollars a gallon for engine coolant? Isn't that a bit strange to sell 50/50?" and apparently it's "peace of mind" to sell 50/50. It was worth a laugh.
So now the total labor I've done is as follows:
Installed a new starter,
Installed a new water pump,
Oil changes don't count,
Installed a new in-line fuel filter,
Repaired the radio,
Repaired the pulley system,
Replaced the crank valve,
Repaired a leaky cooling circuit,
Replaced a few gaskets here and there.
And it looks like I'll be replacing the fuel injectors here soon. That or the intake. I might also replace the fuel lines just for the hell of it.
Oh, I also signed up for a personal brokerage account with Merrill Lynch so I'll be doing some small stock option trading. I figure I'll go the aggressive, high-appreciation route for now just to fiddle around and gamble on stocks, and invest in a mutual fund for the long-term.
I was talking with a friend. "Why do you know so much about everything?" and I had to laugh and reply, "I just google it and do it"
It was a quick realization that I'm a rare breed of person that has the first gut instinct of "I'm going to do it myself", with the help of the internet and books, mind you. People get scared of the unknown.
My mind works like this: This is a man-made world, and everything is capable of being understood if you let your mind understand it.
There is nothing we are incapable of in life. Personally, I don't recognize limits. I don't see barriers. I see problems waiting to be solved.
I guess I'm a dying breed. I'm a dying breed of person that doesn't want anyone's help, because I can do anything and everything on my own, and I can do it better than anyone else with enough time and dedication.
What can I say, I'm awesome and drop dead gorgeous. Haha.
Alright, sleep time. I'm tired. Gotta' work hard tomorrow and make money. Goodnight internet.
ps: Loved the voicemail. Made me laugh. Glad you figured out the area code.

My policy is this: I do unto others, as they have done to me.
